Event Information
Many professors and teachers have what are called “office hours,” when their office door is open and any student is welcome to either make an appointment or just pop in for a quick question.
The door to my office is always open, but I have no coffee maker in there. Solution: Beginning the week of September 13th, a couple of evenings each week, at Starbucks here on the mountain, any youth, or anybody for that matter, will be able to find me hanging out. This will be every Sunday and Tuesday unless I am out of town or there is a Youth Event going on during that time.
Sundays from 6:00-7:30 pm will be the time for anyone in High School to come by, grab a cup of coffee or other tasty beverage, and hang out.
Tuesdays from 5:00-6:30 pm will be the time for anyone in Middle School to come by.
No curriculum, no attendance, no agenda. Let’s get to know each other, hang out, bring your friends, and tell me all the cool things we can do as Youth Program here at church!
Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which the candidates "express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop" (BCP, p. 860). Those who were baptized at an early age are expected to make a mature public affirmation of their faith, recommit themselves to the responsibilities of their baptism, and receive laying on of hands by a bishop (BCP, p. 412).
Confirmation class will be offered in the Spring and run concurrently with the season of Lent this year. Classes will meet during the appointed Sunday School hour for six classes as well as some off-campus field trips.
This class will also be available to anyone in 10th grade or older seeking preparation for Holy Baptism, Confirmation, or the reaffirmation of their baptismal vows if they have already been confirmed before.
