The Episcopal Diocese of East Tennessee offers several events throughout the year for youth in grades 6 through 12. Join us for a weekend. Come and rest the body, calm the spirit, and nourish the soul.
“DYE,” or “Diocesan Youth Event,” is the calendar-year kickoff lock-in that takes place alongside Diocesan Convention. It’s a chance to experience diocesan youth retreats if you haven’t before, and to learn about other upcoming events throughout the year. Open to youth in grades 6 through 12.
“Happening, A Christian Experience” is a spiritual renewal weekend for youth in grades 10, 11, and 12. An event by youth and for youth, Happening encourages participants to examine their own faith journeys through a series of talks given by their peers, as well as through worship and small group activities. The talks are personal thoughts and reflections on Christian life as the young people who speak have experienced them.
“Patterson Junior High Retreat,” A retreat for youth in grades 6-8. Started in 1989, the Junior High Retreat opened up diocesan programming to middle-school youth. This retreat is named in memory of Arlene Patterson, who had invested an incredible amount of time and energy into the event over the years.
“Senior High Sabbath” Sometimes you just have to get away... away from deadlines, away from task lists, away from stress. The Senior High Sabbath is an opportunity to do just that. With a free-flowing schedule, this event offers plenty of optional workshops and several worship services, as well as time to simply hang out and relax. This event is open to all youth in grades 9-12.
